Questions

How It Works

Can roof coating go over shingles?

Sometimes, but the roof has to be in good enough shape for the coating to bond. Loose, damaged, or missing shingles usually need repair first. The roofer checks the surface condition during the inspection and flags any repairs needed before coating can proceed.

Is roof coating worth the money?

It is worth it when the roof is still structurally sound and the goal is to reduce leaks and extend its life. It is not the right call if the decking is soft, the membrane is delaminating, or damage is widespread, coating will not fix those problems.

What happens if I delay getting the roof coated?

A small seam leak or surface crack left uncoated can let water reach the decking. Once the decking softens or rots, the job moves from a coating application to a partial or full replacement, a significantly higher cost and more disruption.

How long does roof coating last?

Service life depends on the product, the mil thickness applied, and how well the surface was prepared. Seams, flashing, and drainage all affect how long the protection holds. The roofer can give a realistic range based on your specific roof after the inspection.
